Not much to look at here- this is just something I tossed together to illustrate how my photo was used without my permission. There are two screen captures from two different web-sites where the product is being sold, and two more with portions of their product photo being zoomed in on. On the bottom is a portion of my original photo (published Sept 13th 2011) fav.me/d49s04r
I thought so!
I realized this today...that's not right... They could have taken a picture of the actual real one without being too lazy...
This is why No one likes hasbro anymore, firs they rippoff Disney now they rip of their fans for money! holyshit! they would ripp of anything now!
Wasn't Hasbro- Hasbro licensed MLP to Cardinal Ind. Games, who are the ones who did this.
I think the product could be a hoax and anyone who buys it could be in for a nasty surprise, im not sure but i don't official company would steal pictures but ya know my opinion only, sorry to hear they stole it though :S
Its pretty bizarre no matter how you look at it...
I'm curious what the Rarity that comes with the game actually looks like!
What a bizarre case of image stealing.
You'd think a company under license from Hasbro would have access to Hasbro's assets (or, you know, at least the figures from the game they are making the box art for) and wouldn't need to resort to photoshopping images they find on the internet.
Not to be a hanger-on on your personal business, but I'm really interested to see how Hasbro decides to handle this.
Assuming they don't make you sign an NDA or something, I'd love to know what they come back to you with.
Best of luck navigating corporate law!
Wow. Lazy people man. Seriously. Hope you get a hefty check in the mailbox soon.
How would you even go about fighting something like this?
I sent them an e-mail to start with. Now they're forwarding it off to Hasbro's legal. Hasbro's legal department is going to be the one to make the call on stuff- they'll determine what course of action is best for them. They'll either threaten me with a lawyer (doubtful) or propose a solution to make the problem go away.
Man... this can happen to anyone and I'm like damn.
wow if you look at the other 2 aswell they used all 4 of your
poses in pic.....that photo/editor needs a foot up the ass :/
Only Rarity is one of my customs. The big complaint is that they used my photograph without permission. The other three ponies were part of the original G4 gift set from way back when, and were included in my photograph as something to compare/contrast my custom Rarity to. They lifted all four ponies from my photo.
Also, isn't that Rarity of yours a custom?
Yup. If not for that, this probably would have never come to light. It wasn't even me who found this- several very alert Bronies out there spotted the on-line listings for the game and brought it to my attention. I think a couple of them were disappointed to find out that my work wouldn't be included in the game!
That sucks! Wow, I can't believe that. It's not like they can't take their own freaking photos of the toys! :/
HASBRO RIPPED YOU OFF... WHAT AHOLES
